Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities, Hospitals and Home Health Care Agencies are frustrated with what it takes to coax work out of Millennials.
Good News. About 17 million members of Generation Z are adults and starting to enter the U.S. workforce. The Wall Street Journal says employers have not seen a generation like this since the Great Depression.
Take heart, Administrators. Help is on the way. A generation that is hard working, curious, and wants to earn money are graduating from high school.

Cambridge University suggests that inherited mutation in some genes make people far more likely to develop Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. They have recently discovered that sometimes genes can go haywire even without the mutated genes inherited from parents. In Britain, Professor Patrick Chimney writes that one in 20 patients develop genetic variants inherited from their parents, but it is unknown why other people, not at risk, get Dementias. As DNA is unraveled, we will know more of why these mutations exist.

A big help to Long Term Care facilities is they are now allowed time to correct a citation, delivered by the federal survey team, without being doubly penalized. Prior to Trump's change in the law, the homes could be fined for a period of time before the citation was even issued. Nursing Home Administrators, Assisted Living Managers and Memory Care Managers are congratulating the leaders of the industry for pushing this new ruling through. Watch for continuing education and classes on the subject and new regulations.

Long Term Care homes will watch to see if the Amazon, Berkshire, and JP Morgan plan to cut costs and improve care will affect care of the frail elderly who need intensive care outside of their home. This was not reveled in the initial article today.
